The US Central Command wrote: "Major combat operations continue, and our response efforts are ongoing. However, the situation is fluid, so out of respect for their families, we will refrain from releasing any additional information, including the identities of our fallen soldiers, until 24 hours after their families have been notified."
It is not yet clear how the soldiers were killed, but Iran has been responding to US and Israeli strikes by hitting US military bases across the region since Saturday.
US President Donald Trump warned in a video statement early Saturday that US forces could be killed during the operation.
