Bahraini energy company "BAPCO Energies" declared a force majeure on its operations affected by the current situation in the region on Monday, following an Iranian attack targeting the company's oil refinery complex.
The company, which is leading the transformation of Bahrain’s energy sector, explained in a statement that the declaration of force majeure on its operations comes in light of “the current situation resulting from ongoing Iranian attacks on the region and the recent brutal attack that targeted one of the units at the group’s BAPCO refining facility.”
The company clarified that all local market needs are fully secured, in accordance with established proactive plans, ensuring the continuity of supplies and meeting local demand without disruption.
The Bahraini National Operations Center announced today that a fire broke out as a result of an Iranian attack targeting a facility in the Ma'ameer area, resulting in material damage but no loss of life.
Force majeure is considered a fact when an exceptional, unforeseen event beyond the control of the contracting parties occurs, such as natural disasters, wars, or pandemics, rendering the fulfillment of contractual obligations impossible.
